Ross Hurst

Mr. Hurst is one of the co-founders of USA Voice & Data. He began his career in telecommunications over 20 years ago, starting as a Satellite Coordinator within the Cable News Network (CNN) Satellites and Circuits Department of Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta, GA.

After leaving Turner Broadcasting in 1995, Mr. Hurst held sales management positions at Global Access Telecommunications, Williams Communications, Focal Communications and Paetec Communications.

In 2005, Mr. Hurst founded Chicago Voice & Data, a fast growing independent telecommunications agency designed to meet the needs of Chicago area businesses. Leveraging LAN & WAN analysis, design expertise and a detailed knowledge of carrier pricing, Mr. Hurst has helped provide Chicago Voice & Data's clients with significant savings, ROI and dependable customer support. Satisfied clients include: WinPak, Portion Packaging, Shur-Gain USA, Clark National Inc., Renishaw Inc, Checkpoint Software Technologies, and Original Software.

Mr. Hurst grew up in Hinsdale, IL and graduated from Hinsdale Central High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Alabama. (Roll Tide!) He lives with his wife and three children in the near western suburbs of Chicago.

Mr. Hurst is involved in several area associations including the Illinois Technology Association (ITA), Chicago Chamber of Commerce, International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) and the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). In his spare time, he enjoys any kind of family activity and games of golf and platform tennis with friends.

Robert "Sam" Sansome

Mr. Sansome is one of the co-founders of USA Voice & Data. He has been in the Telecommunications and Consulting industry for over 20 years. After graduating university in 1990, he joined Accenture and went on to become a senior executive in their Telecommunications and High Tech practice.

While with Accenture, Mr. Sansome became a Customer Care & CRM expert and a Telecom Billing architect, consulting Fortune 500 telecom companies worldwide including, AT&T (Pacific Bell, Ameritech, AT&T Broadband and ASI), Qwest (US West), Verizon Wireless, Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, Hanaro Telecom (South Korea) and Deutsche Telecom (Germany). His projects were recognized within Accenture for "Process Excellence."

After leaving Accenture, Mr. Sansome joined Thomson West (Hubbard One) and consulted to the AmLaw 100 including firms such as White & Case LLP, Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLC, and Kirkland & Ellis LLC.

In late 2004, Mr. Sansome established Optimized Telecom Solutions, his own telecom consulting and brokering business.  Optimized Telecom Solutions leveraged technology and extensive telecom industry expertise to help business owners, CFOs and CIOs maximize the value their companies were getting from their telecom assets while significantly decreasing their expenditure. Optimized Telecom Solutions' clients included Emirates Airlines, Edwards & Kelcey and Goose Island Beer Company.

Mr. Sansome was born and raised in the United Kingdom. He attended Dauntseys School before garnering a scholarship from GEC and heading to one of Britain's leading engineering schools at Exeter University. He graduated from Exeter with an honors degree in Engineering and after traveling extensively for Accenture client projects he then moved to the United States and Chicago permanently in 1996. When time permits, he enjoys getting back to the UK to visit with his family.

Mr. Sansome is an active member of the MIT Enterprise Forum, the Illinois Technology Association and the British American Business Council. He is an avid sailboat racer and a match racing fanatic, racing with Chicago's very own Chicago Match Race Center. He actively supports multiple sailing charities including Reach The World and the BIG Team Regattas, the Judd Goldman Adaptive Sailing Program, and the Leukemia Cup Regattas.
